Clients and counselors/therapists can meet in an online, video streaming capacity without having to be in the same physical location. RockWater utilizes AdvancedMD to provide this service for our clients/patients.
We recommend that the client/patient have a minimum of 3 mpbs upload and download for bandwidth during a session. While not required, you will have the best experience if both meet this minimum.
The system we use is AdvancedMD. We can create a client portal and conduct virtual appointments which are compatible with the most current desktop browser versions of Google Chrome, Safari and Microsoft Edge. You can use a PC, Mac, Android, iPhone, or iPad. Software platforms for PCs include Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows XP, Windows 10, web browser (OS agnostic). On a PC, Mac, and Android, you just need either the Chrome, Firefox, or Safari browser (Android works better with Chrome). AdvancedMD is not optimized for touchscreen tablet devices, with the exception of our iPhone and iPad iOS apps.
The biggest limitation on a phone or tablet is the size of the screen. If you are comfortable holding/propping a phone or tablet for an entire session, then it's a solid experience. You are not able to share your screen when using a phone or tablet. The other concern with a phone is just ensuring you are connected to wifi and not using the mobile carrier's data as this can cause high data usage on your phone bill and also provide a less consistent overall experience with occassional video glitches.
No. We do not record any sessions or appointments.
Yes, screen sharing is available by all parties unless on an iPhone or iPad. Screen sharing allows you to select from sharing your entire screen (this means participants see everything on your computer) or to selecting a specific app or program to share. We recommend using the second option as much as possible to prevent accidental exposure to too much information.
At RockWater, we understand financial hardships that individuals may endure in their lives. Upon approval by upper management, we can develop a payment plan that works with you so you can continue your treatment.
If you are ready to begin the court mandated treatment or substance use treatment groups, we will set up your intake appointment through a HIPPA compliant 3rd Party system called AdvancedMD. The intake appointment can be conducted virtually. After you have set up your account on your PC or mobile device, documents will be sent to your portal and an email will be sent to you from RockWater Counseling Center which notifies you that forms are available to be reviewed. You will review, sign and submit your forms anytime prior to your intake appointment. After your virtual intake appointment, you will receive a link to attend groups online via the zoom platform. If your intake appointment is in person at our Mundelein office, our office location is: 333 E IL Route 83 , Suite B7 Mundelein, IL.
We use the system AdvancedMD to process payments online through a 3rd Party organization OpenEdge View/Global Payments Integrated which is secured and encrypted. Per the service fee schedule that was reviewed prior to your appointment, our policy for payments and group attendance, has not changed. We accept payments as a pay-as-you go process, in full, partial pay etc. We prefer a payment to be made every 2-3 groups you attend. Policies will remain in effect regarding progress notes for the court system or attorneys. You will find in your balance due in your online portal under the 'Billing' icon.
